Policies have consequences Lessons from Pakistan’s Policy Experiments

The workshop was held to educate the public regarding the design fallacies in public policies in Pakistan. The lessons were drawn from varied policies such as trade policy, declining of cinema industry in Pakistan and education policy. The consequences of these policies were explained by making comparisons to areas where there is no policy or where the private sector is operating. Participants were encouraged to think about consequences of their choices, ideas and actions and to compare possible alternatives to solve the social and economic problems in Pakistan.
