The 1st National Tax Payers Convention 2026 is a pre-budget national gathering built around a simple idea: Tax Payers who are visible, documented, and compliant should not continue to bear a disproportionate burden in a system marked by complexity, unequal treatment, and weak public trust. The Convention therefore seeks to strengthen a broader Tax Payer voice around fairness, simplicity, predictability, and accountability.

The two-day Convention to be held on the 15th and the 16th of May at the Legend Hotel, 56A Ataturk Avenue, G-5/2, Islamabad, is organized by the Tax Payers Alliance of Pakistan, with the support of Prime Institute.

During the course of activities, we intend to bring together Tax Payers, chambers, business associations, professionals, political representatives, government officials, economists, students, and citizens around the question of what a fair tax system in Pakistan should look like.

The programme combines political dialogue, expert discussion, institutional engagement, practitioner experience, delegate concerns, a common charter, and an organized and structured mechanism for Tax Payers to interact with the Federal Government.

The panel features several prominent figures, including:

  • Dr. Ikramul Haq: Advocate Supreme Court
  • Bilal Azhar Kayani: Minister of State for Finance (Invited)
  • Shaza Fatima: Minister of IT.
  • Miftah Ismail: Awaam Pakistan
  • Shabbar Zaidi: Senior Chartered Accountant
  • Wahaj Siraj: CEO, Nayatel
  • Taimur Jhagra: PTI
