Sohaib Jamali

Sohaib Jamali is the Founding Research Editor at the agenda-setting research wing of Business Recorder, Pakistan’s biggest economic newspaper. While he mostly writes and supervises research on developmental issues, public policy, macroeconomics, and corporate/industrial affairs, his personal interests revolve around normative economics, as well as philosophy and politics of development, broadly conceived.

He has also been associated with Pakistani think tanks, namely Prime Institute, Sustainable Development Policy Institute, CIPE-Pakistan, and AGAHI. His published and unpublished work for all these organizations revolve around democracy, governance, macro-economics, advocacy, private sector development, and Futures Studies. He also provides market mapping, market sizing & business intelligence services to various local and foreign clients including Euromonitor International.  In his prior life, he was a stock broker. He has also written for BBC Urdu, and FDI Intelligence – a specialist division of The Financial Times. Before co-founding BR Research, he worked for Thompson Reuters, and Pakistan’s Geo TV Network.
